Singer Deepak, who has recently sung in AR Rahman’s album for Vijay’s Mersal has been receiving positive response for his rendition with the Mersal single. In an exclusive interview with Behindwoods, he talked about a memorable incident where he had to escape from the cops using Vijay and Ajith’s name. Talking about the unforgettable experience, Deepak said:
“Right after I had sang in both Vijay’s Jilla and Ajith’s Veeram, I had a very unforgettable experience that I wish to share about. Near Citi Centre, a policeman caught me. I did not have money in hand exactly at that time and the inspector asked me what I do. I told him I am a singer and the cop did not believe me and asked me what song. I told him I had sang in both Vijay’s Jilla and Ajith’s Veeram.
I am not even lying, I sang and showed them. Right in front of Citi Centre, I sang an entire Pallavi portion and took out the lyrics from google. Then the cops were happy that they recognised my voice from the song after double checking and this is what helped me escape from them. It was a memorable experience for me in front of Citi Centre.”
